I’m a life-long writer and reader, with a decade of corporate experience in technology, finance, and research in the US (Fortune 100), Canada, and Asia. During the day, I work as a Robotics Process Automation (RPA) Delivery Manager for the Enterprise Data & AI team at a top-five financial institution in Toronto.

I’m a freelance writer, author, and mental health volunteer. My passion subjects are psychology (relationships, parenting, mental health), lifestyle, travel, careers, and technology. I’m currently living in Toronto and am originally from Sri Lanka.

I love a raving party as well as a quiet reading in my extra long socks. When not reading or writing, I work 9-5 to automate processes and volunteer as a crisis line responder. I have a decade of corporate experience in technology, finance, retail, and research. On weekends and public holidays, I can be seen taking long-winded walks and watching gorgeous sunsets.

Although I have always dreamed of becoming a world-renowned writer, as a teenager, I was swayed by society to get a Bachelors in Statistics and Computer Science from the University of Colombo, Sri Lanka. Then as an adult, I thought Business was my calling and got a Masters in Business Administration from Willamette University, USA. But I don’t regret either. I believe that life beautifully flows just as it should. Throughout my life, I kept coming back to writing and have taken creative nonfiction and fiction writing classes at Literary Arts and Attic Institute in Portland, Oregon to improve my craft.

My first taste of publication came when I was a fifteen-year-old. I had written an article titled ‘Freedom of School-going Children’ (Hint: I had strict parents growing up) and it was published in a high school magazine. My grandfather, who was also a writer, had sent that article to a nationally circulated newspaper called Lanka Women without telling me. He even added a poem by Kahlil Gibran for embellishment. Since then, I have been published in university magazines, national newspapers, and online publications.
